JoVonna "Joski Diesel" Rodriguez is no stranger to SpeakMovement. We've featured her poetry and have shared her story with you. Being such a dynamic person driven by words, we are thrilled to further celebrate her passion as one of our WE SPEAK contest winners!
My name is JoVonna Rodriguez and I am passionate about writing. Therapy, release, pleasure, or purpose, writing is a great tool. I’ve been writing for over 10 years, specifically (mostly) poetry. In the last few years I’ve ventured into self-publishing my writing and being more vocal about my passion. I launched my own website and book. At this moment, I know writing doesn’t stop after me, so my vision it to help others self-publish their work. So I am in the process of building my next website and business – Literacy Lives. Literacy Lives will be a safe haven for readers, writers, and soon to be authors. It will be an outlet for a bundle of information on important topics surrounding writing and self-publishing as well as a place for referrals and services. I currently have the Literacy Lives twitter up and it's slowly building momentum, as I work on creating the website. My goal for Literacy Lives is to show others that “Literature is within, it starts with you.” You are a walking book.
